Manchester City Gunned Down by Arsenal

Arsenal entered the Finals of the FA Cup after thrashing Manchester City 2-0 at an empty Wembley Stadium in North London. This was time the 90,000 capacity stadium was not open to spectators for such a top game due to the pandemic restrictions in England.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport might have allowed Manchester City to play in the Champions League for the next two seasons but Arsenal showed them no mercy here.

Their shocking 2-0 victory against the Cityzens marked Mikel Arteta’s 25th game in charge and was possible because of the rock solid defence led by the Brazilian Centre Back David Luiz and their Target man’s brilliant finish in the final half.

The last time these teams met at the Emirates David Luiz gave away the ball too easily and was sent off as the gunners lost to city in a 0-3 home defeat. Arsenal’s first goal was a 18 pass movement that included 10 gunners and this came straight from Pep Guardiola’s book.

Manchester City dominated possession as they usually do but they just had one shot on target that was released by Riyadh Mahrez and Martinez made no mistake in getting it away.

And then in 71st minute the gunners had a cusion to their 1-0 lead as Aubamayeng scored his second goal that saw the Gunners go past city in the FA Cup Final. Arsenal will play either Chelsea or Manchester United next month in the finals.

A North West London Derby could be on the cards as Chelsea look in a red hot form but a Bruno Fernandes driven Manchester United awaits them.

It seems Arsenal finally have a plan and the trip back to the top has already started. For more updates Click Here.
