It’s been more than 18 years since Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut for Sporting Lisbon in a 3-0 victory over Moreirense where he scored 2 goals in the Primeira Liga. The Man himself might not have imagined that he will make history by breaking a then 45 years old record.

Fast forward to January 2021, the Portuguese skipper has finally broken a 63 years old record for scoring the most number of goals in the history of the beautiful game for his homeland and in 4 different top flights.

As usual Cristiano waited to achieve this feat on a big stage as he scored his 760th career goal against Napoli in the final of the Italian Super Cup in a 2-0 victory. An inswinging corner found Ronaldo’s sublime left foot and the Juventus great grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

His 760th goal saw him surpassing Josef Bican who scored a total of 759 goals between 1931 and 1955. Well, that’s not the only news for Ronaldo’s fans to cheer about, his 760th goal also sealed the victory for Juventus and added another trophy to his incredible career.

Cristiano will only get better with each passing day as he has shown no signs of slowing down as he continues to showcase a better version of himself to the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s greatest rival Lionel Messi is the only footballer who is capable to surpass the 35 years’ old record. The Barcelona great has 715 goals to his name having played under 150 games lesser and he has time on his side as he is 2 years younger to Cristiano.
