Star Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah will not be available for selection in the upcoming 4th test match against England due to personal reasons.
It was noted that Jasprit Bumrah had requested the Board of Control for cricket in India (BCCI) for his withdrawal due to personal reasons from the 4th test which was accepted by the Board on Saturday . This is the first test series on home soil for pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah after he made his debut against South Africa in 2018. With the exclusion of Bumrah, India’s squad strength is now reduced to 17 .
Either Umesh Yadav or Mohammed Siraj will be likely to replace Jasprit Bumrah for the second pacer’s slot . The team management made it clear that there will be no new addition to India’s squad ahead of the 4th test . Earlier, it was mentioned that Bumrah will be rested from the white ball ODI and T20I chapters against England considering the work load management of the pacer keeping in mind the hectic schedule ahead in the year with the IPL, a possible World Test Championship final in June and the T20I World Cup in October .
The 4th test is all set to begin from the 4th of March 2021 in the newly inaugurated Narendra Modi Stadium , Ahmedabad with India leading the series by 2-1 and being a step closer to the World Test Championship final
