With just a fortnight left for the seventh season of Hero Indian Super League to kick-off, the 11 ISL teams have already started playing the pre-season friendlies in the bio-bubble of Goa.
Where the whole of the tournament is going to be held across it’s three stadiums. Usually, that is during the last six seasons, the ISL teams prefer to go to abroad for the pre-season, taking on the low-level teams from the europe’s top flight leagues.
Infact, in the 2018-19 season, football fans went ga-ga when the erstwhile ATK FC played against Fulham FC. But, due to the pandemic outbreak earlier this year, the teams had no chance of going abroad, thus playing all their matches in Goa itself.
Even, some of the big fixtures like Manchester United vs SC East Bengal and Rangers FC vs Bengaluru FC which were scheduled, had to be cancelled for the same. The pre-season friendlies that have already been played in Goa are a clear reflection of how much exciting and promising the seventh season is going to be.
