Jamie Vardy Awarded With New Leicester City Contract

Leicester City will keep Jamie Vardy at the club ahead of his 36th birthday. He has won the Golden Boot for the first time in his career in the Premier League 2019-2020 season.

As remuneration Leicester City wanted to reward Jamie Vardy by a new contract which contains a pay rise and one year’s extension to his current contract which otherwise would have been expired in two years time. Charging past Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling and Danny Ings he scored 23 Premier League goals paving path for Leicester City to the crown.

Vardy joined Leicester City on 17 May, 2012 for a reported fee of 1 million. He signed a three year contract untill June 2015.Vardy made his debut for Leicester on 14th August against Torquay United in the first round of the League Cup dominating the match at Plainmoor.

He headed the final goal leading to 4-0 win. Bext debut he made was in King Power stadium winning 2-0 against Peterborough United where he hurled the ball for Andy King. He scored his first league goal where they were defeated by Blackburn Rovers 2-1 on 25th August.

He made a comeback in September where Leicester scored two 2-1 in a clash with Burnley and Middlesbrough. He faced criticism from Leicester City supporters in social media during his First Season for the club.

He even thought of giving up football but manager manager Nigel Pearson and assistant manager Craig Shakespeare convinced him to continue playing with the club which led to series of victories thereafter. Leicester City would not have been concrete without Vardy.
