North East United FC have completed the Signing of 27 year old Portuguese Winger Luis Machado to reinforce their attack from Portuguese Top tier club Moreirense F.C.
Born in Lamego, Viseu District, at the age of 6 the Winger joined U.S.S. Paredes in 1999 and made his Senior debut for the club 10 years later in the Portuguese 4th division.
In the summer of 2010, Machado penned down a deal with S.C. Freamunde. He was then promoted to the first team for the 2011–12 season and made his debut in an away loss to C.F. Os Belenenses.
The year 2014 saw the Portuguese ace move to another Division 2 side C.D. Tondela on a 2 year deal. He made 26 appearances while netting 2 goals and helping his side gain promotion to the Portuguese Top division.
His debut in the Liga Nos came in the when he was named in the starting XI against Sporting C.P. in 2015. The following year he plied his trade back to the 2nd division and signed for C.D. Feirense and helped the team procure promotion into Division 1.
This will be the first experience abroad for Luís Machado.
The Portuguese Winger will be a great acquisition for the Highlanders. He has a tremendous amount of experience under his belt having played 100 plus games in the Portuguese Top flight.
North East United FC fans could be in for a real treat as Luís Machado can be the missing piece of the puzzle for them.
