Marcelinho Leite Perreira: The flare of Samba in the city of Bhubaneshwar

Starting from making a fierce run down the flanks or changing the position for creative playmaking. The name’s Marcelinho Leite Perreira.

On his arrival at the Bhubaneshwar based club, he shares some memories of his previous years in ISL and shows gratitude for his new team. When asked about playing in a new team after three successful years at Hyderabad FC (previously FC Pune City).

Marcelinho replied that, it always feels good when any player is made to feel important for a new club and on his arrival at Odisha FC, his fellow teammates’ gesture showed that how happy they were. He also said that, he can be the player who can help Diego Mauricio to score some goals as both them has got a good bonding since their academy days.

The Brazilian winger also opens up about his new coach saying that, it’s really great to be at Bhubaneshwar and he can’t wait to practice under Coach Stuart Baxter’s guidance and go through his practice drills during the team’s training sessions.

When, asked about Indian football’s development, he says that, ISL is a great initiative to merge the Indian youngsters with foreign players which ultimately helps them to show up their talent on a big stage and also helps them to learn more about the game.

He also opens up about Vinit Rai, whom he states as a “veteran” player. Marcelinho sums up the whole story with his commitment to the team to bring the best out of himself and make this season a worth remembering for Odisha FC.
