The first goal of the game came in a 20th minute when Boumous control and dribbled the ball really well from a long aerial pass and found tons of space to run into and easily passed the ball to Le Fondre who had an empty net in front of him and easily put the ball in the back of the net to break the deadlock.
After that as the second half commenced, in the 47th minute Boumous once again made a good run and was about to beat the goalkeeper but Debjit outstretched his hands but rather then making connection with the ball he made connection with Boumous foot and brought him down and therefore Mumbai City FC were awarded a penalty, after which Le Fondre capitalised from the spot to make the score line 2-0.
The final goal of the game came in the 58th minute, after a spot kick from near the half line reached Boumous inside the penalty box who handsomely played it off to Hernan, who made no mistake in making the score line 3-0 and open his account in the Indian super league.
Therefore the match finished with the final score line of 3-0 after a brilliant performance from Mumbai city FC and their tailesman Hugo Boumous who was exceptional in this game after his abilities were being questioned after his performance in the first two games, as all the three goals of the game were contributed by him, as he registered 2 assists and the penalty was also won by him. Adam le Fondre’s performance was also commendable, as he scored twice in the game. Mumbai city FC defence was also on point as both Fall and Hernan were great with their defensive duties.
Mumbai city FC now top the points table after this win, with 6 points in three games. Whereas SC East Bengal’s bad start to the Indian super league continues as they are yet to register a point after playing 2 games.
