Belgian Centre back Benjamin Lambot has put pen to paper with the Highlanders
The centre back has come through the ranks of former Belgian outfits White Star Bruxelles and RWD Molenbeek. He has spent a major part of his career in his native country and has featured in the top division as well the second division of Belgium.
The 33 year old started his professional career with Belgian club Tubize having a total of 79 appearances and 9 goals in his 8 year long spell. He was then loaned out to another club in his homeland Virton.
His next spell saw him donning the colours of one of top notch clubs in Belgium, Royal Antwerp and he has a total of 79 caps along 7 goals for the top division club.
In 2012 Benjamin Lambot made a move to Belgian top division club Lierse from Royal Antwerp during the summer transfer window on a free transfer. His first spell outside Belgium saw him turn up for Azerbaijani outfit Simurq for the next 2 seasons.
He plied his trade back to his country and signed for Cercle Brugge making a total of 90 appearances and he found the back of the next twice with them. Benjamin Lambot’s latest outing was with a Cyprus based club Nea Salamina.
The 6’2 feet tall centre back has Goal scoring instincts and will be major Aerial threat. The Rock Solid defender can operate as a centre back as well as a defensive wizard in the Midfield.
Benjamin Lambot will add some Belgian flavour to the Highlanders dressing room. Lambot is the third foreign recruit of the season for Gerard Nus alongside Mauritanian International Khassa Camara and Portuguese Ace Luis Machado. The club has also retained the services of Uruguayan Lynchpin Federico Gallego.
