After two eventful seasons at Mumbai, Paulo Machado is set to part ways with the club.
Mumbai City FC has recenty appointed Sergio Lobera, one of Indian football’s most dynamic coach as their Head Coach. Lobera certainly has his plans chalked out for the next season of Indian Super League.
Under the new ownership of the City Group, the Islanders is looking to build a strong team for the upcoming season. However, reports suggest that Sergio Lobera is not considering Paulo Machado as a part of his plan.
The Portugal International was a vital asset of Costa’s blue army. He made a total of 29 appearances for the Islanders. In the two seasons under Jorge Costa, he scored three goals while assisting in five occasions. Paulo Machado was a very key factor of Mumbai as he used to always keep the opponent defenders at their toes with his skill and speed.
Reports suggest that Machado is considering a move to his home nation Portugal. However a good deal from the other clubs in India may tempt him to stay. It will be interesting to see where the star midfielder heads. Mumbai City surely have some plans under their sleeves with new management and coach.
