After India’s historic victory at Lord’s in the second test match of their England tour, the hosts have got themselves a bad news. Their premium seamer, Mark Wood will be missing out the third test at Leeds which is set to commence from 25th August.

Mark wood’s absence means a huge responsibility is now on James Anderson’s shoulders and now he has to dealt with it, all by himself.

Missing out Mark Wood is a great setback for the English side indeed. The seamer has been ruled out due to a jarred right shoulder. Though, he will be with the team in Leeds and will undergo rehabilitation. Also, he will be assessed after the Leeds test comes to a close. Mark Wood, the fast bowler who has bagged five wickets in the second test, sustained the injury when he dived to stop the ball which was racing away towards the boundary after Rishab Pant hit it hard in the 74th over of the Indian innings. After picking up the injury, Mark Wood consulted from the physio and went to take the field on Day 4 but however, he was able to bowl just four overs on the final day of the Test match.

With the absence of Ben Stokes, the English team is missing out the service of one of the most complete all-rounders of this era.

After the English side were already missing out the service of their some key players namely Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer due to certain reasons, now the name of Mark Wood has been added to that undesired list too.

As a replacement, England have included Saqib Mahmood for the third Test of the five-match series in Leeds. The third Test match starts tomorrow (25th August).
