Aryna Sabalenka clinches her 4th singles title in Abu Dhabi

‘Final llega su fin’ in the Abu Dhabi afternoon as in-form Belarusian tennis beauty, Aryna Sabalenka extends her 14 match straight-win run to 15 as she clinches the WTA Abu Dhabi Open 2021 with a thumping victory over Veronika Kudermetova of Russia.

Sabalenka, 22 year-old, was the top contender of the title as she had thrashed her each and every counterpart from the first round itself. Her game-sense depicted that she was in great form throughout. Kudermetova, 23 year-old, had also been impressive throughout as she had to face some really tough competitors in the form of Paula Badosa Gilbert of Spain and Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine. Both, Aryna and Veronika made it to the final of the WTA Abu Dhabi Open for the very first time in their careers.

The final seemed to be an one-sided game for Aryna Sabalenka as she knitted her powerful forehands with absolute finesse which bamboozled Veronika Kudermetova as her two-handed backhands failed to show their worth this time. Aryna went on clinching the first set 6-2 as she wasn’t pestered much by her counterpart. In the second set, Veronika started of well as her powerful returns proved to be a bit pestering for the Belarusian tennis beauty.

Aryna Sabalenka all smiles after the victory

But, within no time, Aryna Sabalenka changed the direction of the game as she clinched 5 games in a row, 6 in all total including the winning game of the first set. After the 5th game fo the second set, Veronika clinched two games back to back but significantly, Aryna won the very next game effortlessly and thus, claimed her very first title of the season. This was Sabalenka’s 4th singles title.

Precisely, it was the 15th consecutive win, 3rd title in a row and 9th title in all total for Aryna Sabalenka. On the other hand, luck didn’t seem to be on Kudermetova’s side today and we all wish a very best of luck to both the winner and the runner-up for their career as it’s just the beginning of the year and a lot more awaits in this year itself including the prestigious Grand Slams.
