Date:

2 time ISL champions last season brothers of Chennaiyin FC once again triumph over Jamshedpur FC after two early goals from the supermachans and give a great start to their season.

Yesterday night, two ISL giants Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC locked horns Tilak Maidan, Vasco. With the likes of players such as Valskis, Thapa, Crivellaro, Monroy, etc. the game was pre anticipated to be a cracker. And the game by no means failed to live up to the fan’s expectations, as the game was a nail biting contest.

As the game started, Jamshedpur lost possession inside the opening 35-40 seconds in a promising position, as a result of which Chennaiyin FC’s attack got a bit of space to run into the defence and create a good charge for themselves.

After running into the Jamshedpur half, they quickly roll the ball to the flanks where the new signings Isma got the ball and immediately passed the ball towards Thapa, who courtesy of the amount of space he was provided was able to easily placed the ball in the bottom right corner and became the first Indian to score in this seasons ISL and that too inside 60 seconds from kick off. The goal was also so the fourth fastest goal in isl history and gave chennaiyin FC a huge confidence boost and an early lead.

After the goal Chennaiyin FC looked ever so confident, creating space and rolling the ball forward and creating chances for themselves and testing the Jamshedpur defence.

All of this pressure finally paid off, when in the 25th minute of the game a deep cross was struck inside the Jamshedpur penalty box and Chhangte took a good leap to control the ball, but Jamshedpur defender Issac held on to Chhangte’s waist and committed a foul thus awarding chennaiyin FC a penalty.

Isma the Bissau-Guinean was all set to take the spot kick and struck it ever so calmly into the bottom right corner and gave Chennaiyin FC a two goal cushion.

After the second goal, Chennai’s confidence boosted to another level as they were now playing beautiful football with beautiful first touch ability and striking shots on goal. As the game proceeded, in the 36th minute Jamshedpur FC played the ball forward into the Chennaiyin FC half and struck an handsome cross all the way from the wings which towards the target man Nerijus Valskis, who had no problem whatsoever in finding the back of the net, given the amount of space he was allowed to enjoy by the Chennaiyin defence. Valskis’s goal made the score 2-1.

After the first three goals how the game came inside 37 minutes, the rest of the match didn’t see any goal bhai idhar off the side. Though both teams created some really quality chances, some good goalkeeping and defensive display a and a bit of good luck helped both teams from conceding.

Although Chennaiyin FC take all three points from last night’s contest, they need to work really hard and do better on the pitch if they want to have a successful season. Whereas Jamshedpur FC need to really look after their defence and made their back four more disciplined and efficient.
