Certain players were missing from the WTC final like Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul too. There are reports that state that there is a high possibility of Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul, there are talks about Rishabh too that he also might get ready for the ODI World Cup 2023. This edition of the World Cup will be held in INDIA. The likes of all these players will be important but as we all know the kind of accident Pant has gone through is deadly. Will he be ready to play World Cup and what about his fitness? Isn’t it going to be a big thing?

Let us directly not go the World how can we forget about Asia Cup the schedule for the Asia Cup has been announced which is going to commence on 31 August and end on 17 September. ODI World Cup will be commencing on 5 October and end on 19 November. While let’s talk about Asia Cup, India has not won any Multination tournament for a long time now. The Asia Cup will be played on a hybrid model. 4 Matches will be held in Pakistan the original host of this edition of Asia Cup. Then the tournament will be moved to Sri Lanka. India and Pakistan will play 2 times against each other and if possible, they will be playing in the finals too.

India’s squad for these tournaments will be the same mostly until the Injury hits them.

Rohit Sharma (C) Subhman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Hardik Pandya (VC), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, MD Siraj, MD Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shardul Thakur.

The above-mentioned is the probable 15-member squad there are a few names that are in contention too.

Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar and between these players, Pant and Sundar are still recovering from injury. Repost says that Pant will be ready by the World Cup, not the Asia Cup. It’s a big announcement that Rishabh is in his Rehab Process which makes all the possibility of him coming into the squad but the question is will he be featured in the playing XI considering the team strength it seems he won’t be as there are players who are currently in a better position than him. The amount of game time other members will be any day more than him. KL Rahul is a better prospect in the middle order considering where he bats at number 4 or 5 that should go on while the situation is in front of the team. Caption Rohit has to take some decisions and his role is Vital, Vice-Captain Pandya needs to step up and think about assisting Rohit from the front. In this team Virat is the only player who has played the most number of World Cups, it will be his 4th world cup his contribution towards the team will be immensely important and helpful.

Let’s not forget India will be playing a Multination Tournament at the subcontinent conditions. It will help a lot of players to get into that zone of playing the World Cup. All the players should be given different roles and execution is an important part of this. The captain and Coaching staff needs to step up. Preparations should be started from now about whom to use at a certain point in time. These players know the conditions well. Assessing them and placing the right XI will be the key as pitches are different conditions will also differ hence understanding what can be the playing XI at that certain pitch will be the most important factor. We all hope for the best for our team.
