A rare Liverpool win at Manchester United has blown the top-four race wide open once again.

Chelsea’s surprise home defeat to Arsenal opened the door for the Reds, and they took the opportunity with two hands with a thrilling win at Old Trafford.
A win for Chelsea would have all but guaranteed the Blues will be playing Champions League football next season, but Emile Smith Rowe’s first-half goal on Wednesday saw the Gunners leave Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 victory.

The loss meant Chelsea missed the chance to go third in the table, and leaves Thomas Tuchel’s side looking over their shoulders during the run-in. Arsenal’s win was great news for West Ham and Liverpool, who both still hold hopes of finishing in the top four this term.
While Chelsea will remain confident of finishing the job in their remaining two League games, Tuchel also has to balance his squad with FA Cup and Champions League Finals to contend with.
Manchester United have already joined Manchester City in the Champions League next season, and Leicester would realistically have to lose their last two games and see one of West Ham or Liverpool win all their remaining matches to drop out.

Liverpool are holding up their side of the argument, with Roberto Firmino scoring twice after Diogo Jota cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ opener. Mohamed Salah wrapped up an emphatic 4-2 win.
There is next to no room for error for the three teams chasing Chelsea now, but there could be plenty of twists and turns left during the run-in.
