Colombia no more hosts of Copa America 2021, Argentina likely to host all matches

Colombia will no longer be hosting the Copa America as Covid-19 cases have shot up in the past few weeks. If reports are to be believed, Argentina will host the entire tournament alone.

CONMEBOL annouced on Thursday that Colombia won’t be hosting the South American Championship and the host country will soon be announced.

The Argentine FA are planning to add three more Stadiums ahead of mega event. As per a report by TyC Sports, the three stadiums being la Bombonera, the Bicentenario, and the Libertadores de America

The Copa America tournament, like the European Championship, was due to take place last year but was postponed by 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Two guest nations, Australia and Qatar, pulled out of the tournament in February due to a clash with World Cup qualifying dates. India too were invited to be a part of the event but the AIFF backed out as the dates weren’t suitable enough.
