The most high profile football league in the sub continent is all set to begin it’s seventh edition starting from November 20.
Inspired from the top european leagues, the ISL will be allowing the 5 substitutions rule in upcoming season, reports TOI. The rule was adopted by the top european leagues for the players to keep up well when they returned to Football after a long gap due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Except the English Premier League, all other European leagues including the UEFA Champions League and the Europa league have implemented the 5 substitutions rule for the 2020-21 season.
The 5 substitutions rule will be an added advantage for all the clubs as it will reduce the workload of the players and will also reduce the chances of injuries.
The organisers have made no changes apart from the addition of the 5 substitutions rule. The Hero ISL season 7 kicks off on November 20 with ATK MohunBagan FC and Kerala Blasters FC playing the opening fixture.
