After a blockbuster star studded opening ceremony it was time for the host nation to take the field. It was the opener of Group A and also the opening match of fifa world cup 2022. The fans expected the match to neck to neck between Qatar and ecuador but it was all in vain completely.
Fans from different nations assembled to watch the opening match of fifa world cup and also there were certain verbal exchanges between the fans in the Al Bayt Stadium.
It was a record day for both Qatar and Ecuador as both team created history in the opening match of Fifa World Cup for the first time ever such thing happened. Qatar the host nation lost the match by 2-0. With the loss it was a first time record in the history of the Fifa World Cups that a host nation has lost the opening match in Fifa World Cup.
Although Qatar despite performing very bad on the pitch but there were some glimpses when they tried to attack. They couldn’t capitalise on the chances at all and thus their coach has a lot of work to do. For Ecuador however it was great win and also for Enner Valencia as he netted 2 goals. He became the highest goal scorer for Ecuador in the Fifa World Cup.
After the loss it will be hard for Qatar to grab a victory in the world cup as they will face Netherlands and Senegal in their group matches. It will take a lot of courage to beat the Dutch and Senegalese side in the upcoming matches ahead.
