The World Cup Winner joined Barcelona from arch rivals Atletico Madrid last year for £108million.

Much was expected of the Frenchman in his first campaign at the club but he mustered only 15 goals in 48 appearances, with Barcelona ending the campaign without a trophy.

The former Atletico Madrid forward has always made it clear that No. 7 is his priority and he even tried to get his favourite jersey number in his debut season at the Camp Nou but the Spanish FA blocked his request.

There’s no mention yet of which number Coutinho will wear next season. There’s a few up for grabs, including the No. 14 he wore when he first arrived.

Barcelona are currently undergoing a complete revamp after their embarrassing exit from the Champions League and will go all out to bring some trophies at the Camp Nou to make upto the destruction caused by Bayern Munich.

A lot more will be expected from Barcelona’s new No. 7 in the upcoming campaign as he will be one of most prominent parts of the puzzle for the Dutch Manager Ronald Koeman. The new manager is highly motivated to bring FC Barcelona back to winning ways.

Barcelona Kick off their campaign against Villarreal on September 27 in an empty Camp Nou.
