East Bengal to play in the Indian Super League 2020-2021?

After weeks of never ending dilemma and stretching it over the months the saga is finally coming to an end and with some good news for all the East Bengal fans.

East Bengal were linked with many investors for their deal but that didn’t work out at all. The closest to finalise the deal was Prasun Mukherjee’s USEL but they backed out as East Bengal management were not in favour of giving them the maximum shares and thus the deal went off the table.

East Bengal in Indian Super League

The fans had a lot of hopes but as the deal fell so did their hopes. Allegedly by 4th of September, 2020 the deal with their potential new investor is all set to be signed. The new potential investor is Shree Cements as they are eager to join the Red and Gold outfit for the upcoming Indian Super League season.

It is noted that East Bengal completed their centenary year in 2020 and the fans will surely delighted about this news coming out from sources that East Bengal will be playing in the Indian Super League this season. With their rivals Mohun Bagan joining hands with ATK FC and together forming the merged entity is called as ATKMB FC and the fans of football will not miss out on the Kolkata Derby at all this season.

It is expected that the Chief Minister of West Bengal and FSDL of Indian Super League will likely announce it today itself. The path looks all set for East Bengal as the latest addition to Indian Super League. This season could be an epic one for Indian football with the much loved derby and rivalry on the cards.
