Hugo Boumous to Mumbai City. Another Goa player to Mumbai for a humongous fee.

The Islanders are all set to pay the buyout clause for FC Goa’s Most valuable player Hugo Boumous.

The Golden Ball winner of the Hero ISL 2019-20 season and the reason behind FC Goa’s dream run to the top that saw them making it to the Group stages of Asia’s elite football club championship, “AFC Champions league.”

Last season, Hugo was at his prime as he netted 11 goals and provided 10 assists for the Gaurs and helped them clinch the Hero ISL League winners sheild and for his top notch performance in the Indian Top flight he was awarded the Golden Ball that is given to the best player in the league.

Hugo Boumous caught everyone’s eye due to his heroics for FC Goa and after the conclusion of the 6th Edition of the Hero ISL, the City football group owned franchise Mumbai City FC were keen to get the services of the French-Moroccan attacker.

Ever since the negotiations started between both the clubs it was decided that if the move is meant to take place it will involve a high transfer fee for the player and an enormous amount according to the calibre of Indian Football.

Hugo Boumous took on to his social media to bid farewell to the club and wrote “Dear Goa, I would like to announce that my journey with @fcgoaofficial is over. It has been a hard decision to make. I’m grateful to have represented the colours and the state of Goa across India. Thanks for all the love I received from the fans during the 2 years spending with you.

This unexpected goodbye by the Hero ISL Golden Ball winner not only took the Indian Football circuit by bombshell but also came as an unexpected blow to the ISL League winners and the Gaur’s took on to their social media and proclaimed that, “The club would like to state that Hugo Boumous continues to remain a contracted player with FC Goa. There is no agreement that has been reached with any club on the same. At this moment, the club would like to distance itself from any communication that may claim otherwise.”

Hugo Boumous signed a 3 year deal with FC Goa but with Sergio Lobera joining Mumbai City FC and many high profile FC Goa players following the footsteps of the Spaniard to the city of dreams, chances of Hugo teaming up with is former coach and teammates looks quite possible.

Now Under the new management of City Football group the Islanders look lethal in the transfer market and will go all out to lift the title of the Indian top flight in the upcoming season that is all set to begin the second half of November that will not be open to spectators.
