Gomez was looking for his second of the match but a matter of inches stood out between him and his second goal as his shot went off target. Rahul KP’s header was saved by Amrinder and he was called into action again from the resulting corner and he stood tall.

A soft penalty was given away to the islanders when Costa Nhamoinesu brought down Adam le Fondre and the resulting spot kick saw Mumbai City FC dominate the scoreline that read 1-2.
