Nothing could separate Bengaluru FC and Hyderabad FC on Saturday as the ISL 2020-21 teams played out a 0-0 draw at the Fatorda Stadium on Saturday. Bengaluru FC and Hyderabad share the spoils as it ends goalless after 90 minutes of play. Hyderabad were the better team and will be unhappy with just the one points.

Bengaluru, had only one shot on goal, that too off target. Liston Colaco, who caught everyone’s eye in Hyderabad’s previous game, came off late in the 83rd minute and it proved to be too less a time for him to make a difference.

After being held 2-2 by FC Goa in their season opener, Bengaluru hoped to register their first win of the season against Manuel Márquez Roca’s side but Hyderabad came up with a dogged performance. Hyderabad, who started with an impressive 1-0 win over Odisha FC, tormented the Blues backline at regular intervals but weren’t clinical enough in the end.

Bengaluru FC were on defence mostly even in the second half after Hyderabad FC lost two key foreigners in Joel Chianese and Lluis Sastre to injuries in the first half. BFC’s Gurpreet Singh Sandhu pulled off a stunning save from Aridane Santana’s header. This was match number 9 of the ongoing seventh season at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.

Hyderabad FC’s Chinglensana Singh takes home the hero of the match honuors. Hyderabad FC forward Aridane Santana wins the winning pass of the match award. Coach Manolo Marquez said, “I thought before the game a point would be important. But with the way we played, I felt we were the better side. We could have won but the injuries came at a wrong time.

We can only confirm the extent after seeing the scan reports. I’m happy with the performance of all my players and we can only move forward from here. Hopefully, I have a full squad to choose from.”

On the other side, Coach Carles Cuadrat was quoted saying, “All of us want to play for three points and we thought we should have won. Lots of chances were created in the second half but we weren’t clinical upfront. Dimas Delgado didn’t start because he suffered an injury in pre-season and still isn’t fully fit. I’m not worried that we don’t have a win yet because the players in our squad are top quality and there’s a very long season ahead.”
