It took a long time coming for the men from Anfield to lift the Premier League title but better late then never.
Liverpool’s dream run in the 2019-20 season made it to the record books as Jurgen Klopp’s side became the earliest champions in Premier League history, clinching the title with seven games still to play when Manchester City were beaten at Stamford Bridge in June.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea were the visitors at the Anfield taking on Liverpool before the trophy was presented to the Champions of England. Klopp’s men lifted the trophy in a special muted ceremony on the Kop following the triumph over the blues in a 5-3 victory in their last home game.
You could say that the Reds have been waiting for this day since the 25th of June but the red half of Merseyside have been craving for this title for the last 3 decades.
Though the fans couldn’t make it to stadium but they left no stones unturned. The red sky with an enormous amount of fireworks and pyrotechnics lit up the night sky. A group of fans ignored the Reds plea of celebrating at home and let off the red flares outside the Anfield.
From Alisson Becker, the veteran Goalkeeper to astonishing titans such as Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander Arnold, Sadio Mane and company gave it all on the pitch and their hard work and zeal paid off in style.
Klopp’s message to the fans, “Everything would be better with fans but we’ve known for six months it would not be possible but I didn’t think we’d even do this a few months ago,”
‘I couldn’t be happier, it would be perfect if the stadium would be full but we cannot change it. We do it for them.’
The Reds had a phenomenal season despite all the peaks and valleys they have been through this season. They have proved what they are capable of everytime they were put to test.
