Northeast United FC have parted ways with Gerard Nus and Khalid Jamil has been handed the hot seat until the end of season. Ahead of Northeast United’s 12th Hero ISL fixture against Jamshedpur FC Coach Alison Kharsyntiew spoke to the media as Khalid Jamil is yet to join the team due to the Covid-19 protocols and here’s what the 33 years old had to say.
The Club is going through a transition phase after the departure of Gerard Nus and Coach Alison was asked about the mood in the camp.
“Mood is fine, the players and the team as a whole are focused and motivated for tomorrow’s match. I am sure they are going to give the best performance and effort to get the three points tomorrow,” he said.
Northeast United FC have made their first move in the winter transfer window and have signed Jamaican international Deshorn Brown and giving his opinion on the new signing Alison said, “He is a good signing for the club. With his calibre he can help the team a lot in the remaining matches,”
The race for the golden boot is heating up and just Behind the Golden boot leader Igor Angulo stands Nerijus Valskis with 8 goals to his name and Coach Alison knows what kind of threat the Lithuanian is and said, “The defensive team has to be very focused and very concentrated. We will not allow any chance or space to him,”
Many Football pundits gave their opinion about how the rest of the season will unfold for the Highlanders after the sudden sacking of Gerard Nus and many think it will hamper Northeast United’s season.
But, Coach Alison is not one of those many as he said, “It won’t hamper us. Khalid is a good coach, he is a very successful coach in Indian football. With his experience, I am sure he will bring a lot to the team in terms of performance and results,” and he signed off.
