Martín Cháves : The Young Uruguayan Flying Machine

How did you feel when you scored the opening goal against Odisha?

Martín: Very happy, I felt that I had taken out a pressure of something that was not giving me since the first game.

Would you like to play in the ISL again? If yes then for which side except for North East United FC?

Martín: Yes, I love the league! I don’t like to choose teams, but if I have to choose one without being North East United FC , I would like to play in GOA , to play again with Redeem.

When did you fall in love with the beautiful game?

Martín: From a very young age, in Uruguay all children are born with this love for football.

Did you ever imagine that you would become a professional Footballer?

Martín: It has always been my dream. I love football and everything around it.

Take us through your early stages of football.

Martín: I started at the age of 5 in an amateur team in my city, where I played until I was 13, when I went to Penarol, a professional team in Montevideo, where I played until I was 18, when I went to Gremio de Brasil, a reserve team, for 2 years.

Then I spent 6 months in Juventud de las Piedas in Uruguay. After that was when I traveled to India. I was also in the Uruguayan National Team U17.
If you give me to choose a team among the ones I played, I choose NEUFC, it will always be in my heart, it is in the place I felt more comfortable.

Before concluding one thing we can say to Martín Cháves , all the Indian Football fans love you a lot and specially we remember your volley against Chennai. That was a treat to watch and indeed we wish you well for your future endeavours. We hope you continue such a great stint in the Indian Super League just like last season.

Thank You Martín Cháves from SportsKindle Media team and behalf of all our readers too.
