While talking on a podcast called Hotspot with Chetan Narula, he said Ricky ponting was very competitive as a Captain and always led from the front. From starting his career under Ricky Ponting’s captaincy to playing under MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings and under Rohit Sharma in Mumbai Indians, the former left handed batsman had shared the best opportunity to play under these great gems of Cricket.

Speaking on Ponting, he said that the veteran captain always supported his teammates during tough times and led from the front. He wanted to win so badly and dragged the whole team along with him.
During the podcast Michael Hussey declared Dhoni as a great Institution. He says,  “MSD… he has a great intuition for the game but he is also very calm and cool, backs his players enormously and shows a lot of faith in them”.

In comparison to ICC trophies MS Dhoni and Ponting shared a tough fight. Ricky Ponting won 50 overs world cup twice in his career, where as MS Dhoni won both the T20 and 50 overs world cup along with the Champions Trophy.

When he asked about the Mumbai Skipper Rohit Sharma he stated that, ” Rohit knows the art of holding nerves under pressure. He is very calm and tactically very sound as well. All of them had this ability to take pressure of players and I think that was good for India.

Although they were different characters with different opinions but had the same spirit to win the game.
