The former India Batsman Mohammed Kaif feels that Rishabh Pant’s role in Indian team hasn’t been set.
The 22 year old young lad has brilliant number in the Indian Premier League but in the national side he failed most of the times.
During the chat show named Aakash Vaani, Kaif shared his feelings about Rishabh Pant.He says, “Rishabh Pant is a free-flowing player. You have to set his batting position, that he will bat at this position and he will get this many overs to play. He needs to be clear in his head that he will get this many overs so that he is not thinking whether he needs to take singles, or if he needs to defend. He is an attacking batsman, he should start hitting attacking shots from the first ball”.
“Delhi Capitals has identified the slot for him, we have decided that Pant has to bat the final ten overs of the innings,” he further said.
In middle of the 2019 world cup Rishabh pant found a spot in the Indian team when Shikhar Dhawan got injured.
“Pant felt a little low when his name was not announced initially in the squad for the 2019 World Cup. He is an emotional person so he felt a little low. He is a class player and has a lot of talent, players like him aren’t found easily,” Kaif said.
Earlier this year pant selected for the two match test series against New Zealand where he struggled and managed to score just 60 runs.
Though KL Rahul seems to be India’s first choice wicketkeeper batsman at present.
Skipper kohli along with the team management have to find any solution regarding rishabh pant.
However, we are indeed waiting to see how Pant redefines himself for India.
