Borussia Dortmund’s midfield wonderkid Jude Bellingham created history on Tuesday night as he became the youngest player to start in ten UEFA Champions League matches after his appearance in the starting XI in Dortmund’s 1-0 over Sporting CP on matchday 2 of UEFA Champions League 2021/22 season.
Jude Bellingham achieved such an historic feat at a mere age of 18 years and 91 days. He thus beats Chelsea FC’s Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who featured in the starting XI of ten UEFA Champions League matches at the age of 18 years and 212 days in the Dinamo Zagreb crest.
Alongside this record, the Marco Rose tuned midfield engine also reached the feat of playing one hundred club matches at this age itself. The Englishman also assisted the only goal of Dortmund’s 1-0 win over Sporting CP on Tuesday night. A coolly stroked pass from Bellingham on the right side of the box was fired into the back of the net past the dive of Sporting CP goalkeeper Adan from a quickly taken effort by Donyell Malen.
