There has been a hush – hush going on for a while
now, on whether Kerala Blasters are actually signing Facundo Pereyra.
Only recently it has come to light that the rumours might be true and that Kerala Blasters are in advanced talks with Argentine attacking midfielder Facundo Pereyra, so as they can fortify
their attack for the upcoming Indian Super league season.
The 32 years old started his career in 2006 with Estudiantes back in Buenos Aires and remained there until 2009.Later, he was sent out on loan to Chilean professional club Palestino where he scored once and assisted on other two occassions. He had played previously in the prestigious UEFA Europa League for PAOK Thessaloniki, FK Qabala and Apollon Limassol and made 29 appearances, had recorded two goals and five assists
Pereyra has been team mates with former Chennai player Andre Schembri at Limassol in the 2018-2019 where he scored fourteen goals, in fifty three appearances along with three assists.
Kerala Blasters had also offered Colombian defender Oswaldo Henriquez, but he backed off from joing the club due to the prevailing fear of the Covid-19 situation. With Sergio Cidoncha in the club, Pereyra could be the club’s second overseas player this
season and a valuable addition.
