The Highlanders have completed the Signing of Mauritanian International Khassa Camara for the 2020-21 season.
The French born Mauritanian play maker Khassa Camara has represented the reserve side of French outfit Troyes and scored a total of 7 goals in 49 appearances. He came through the ranks and broke into the first team for Troyes but lagged game time. He then moved to another French side US Boulogne on loan.
The midfielder then plied his trade to the land of Greeks and joined a lower division club GS Ergotelis. Big clubs from the top division came calling for the 27 year old due to his attractive and effective gameplay and Xanthi FC was his next destination.
Khassa Camara made a total of 79 appearances for the Greek side in 4 seasons he has played for the outfit. Xanthi’s relegation to the second division gave a boast to this deal and came in as a good news for the Guwahati based club.
The player is a current Mauritanian International who has 35 caps and a tremendous goal for his National team. Khassa Camara fits in best in the role of an defensive midfielder but due his versatility he can play even deeper and if required as a Right back too.
The Highlanders add a trailblazing wizard who is known for his vision and his ability to regain possession in the middle of the park. Northeast United FC head coach Gerard Nus will be looking to capitalise on Camara’s quality.
Late in November the Hero Indian Super League will be making a comeback in ‘the new normal’.
