This is the first time in UCL Final history where it will be Paris Saint Germain vs Bayern Munich.
Things can change quickly in football. Bayern have steamrolled all before them in the Champions League this season, becoming the first team to win 10 successive matches in the competition and it has for sure been a dream run in the UCL for the Champions of France as well.
A faultless Champions League campaign would be remarkable but Bayern will face a highly rated trio driven Paris Saint Germain in the final at Lisbon. The trio has only played twice together and have kept everyone silent against them and put on their most convincing victory. Given the quality of chances Bayern have conceded to opponents of late, there is a case to be made for an upset.
The Champions of Germany did manage to keep a clean sheet in the semi final, thanks to Lyon’s poor finishing. With Jérôme Boateng now a doubt for the final, having been forced off at half time on Wednesday against Lyon. PSG’s forwards will be looking to capitalise on it.
Bayern Munich’s game is all based on the famous qoute “Attack is the best form of defense” because they cannot stop scoring once they get going. They have the second highest tally of 42 goals in the Elite European Championship having played just 10 matches and just behind Barcelona’s 45 goals in the 1999-2000 season.
Bayern will have a man on mission in form of Robert Lewandowski or as Thomas Müller says, “Robert Lewangoalski” who is just 2 goals shy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s 17 goal in a season. A hat-trick will get him onto level terms with Raúl as the third highest goal scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
But, standing in his way will be a defense that has not been given the credit it deserves. The Brazilian duo of Thiago Silva and Marquinhos will be looking to halt Bayern’s No. 9.
The PSG skipper will be hoping to leave on a high, which could be his final game for the French side. While, Marquinhos has been in red hot form with the backline and also in the middle of the park.
Will Paris Saint Germain win the Quadruple and add the First Champions League trophy to their Cabinet or Bayern will win the treble and add a 6th to their Cabinet? This game of Paris Saint Germain vs Bayern Munich surely can’t get more thrilling to watch out for.
Whatever it will be but this match promises to be a Goal mouth Galore and a maybe a memorable Paris Saint Germain vs Bayern Munich classic encounter ever.
