Ahead of the Highlanders clash against the blues, Assistant Coach Alison Kharsyntiew addressed the Media as Gerard Nus is serving a 1 match suspension following his second yellow card in the tie against Hyderabad FC.

Northeast United FC will be the first team alongside Bengaluru FC to kickoff the reverse fixtures as they host the blues at the Tilak Maidan tonight.

Bengaluru on the other hand too is going through a tough patch and has lost 4 in a row but Coach Alison is aware of the danger that the Blues bring to the table. He said, “First of all, we know that Bengaluru has lost four games in a four but every game is new and we have to respect them. I’m sure that the players will give their best tomorrow. Whatever the outcome, we know our duty. We have to forget the last match, focus on the next match, and put in 100 percent to win. We have a simple approach. If we lose the ball, we try to win it back. If we have the ball, we have to create chances and score,”

The side from Guwahati is winless in their last 6 outings having lost 3 of their last 4 games and are on a downward slide. “We all are professionals here and we know our duty and our main aim is to forget about the last match and focus on tomorrow’s match, and try to put in a 100℅ effort to win,” Alison Kharsyntiew said.

The Highlanders’ defence is getting vulnerable with each passing match and doesn’t look the same as they were at the beginning of the season. They conceded just 5 goals in their first 5 outings but have conceded 8 goals in their last 5 games having conceded a total of 13 goals in 10 matches. “Our coach (Gerard Nus) has a plan for tomorrow and I am sure the players will defend it well. In every game, there are always positive things and negative things but the main thing is to try and improve the negatives and strengthen our positives.” The former Shillong Lajong tactician Alison Kharsyntiew said during the pre match press conference.
Kwesi Appiah’s injury has played a major role in the Northeast United FC’s downward slide but there’s no confirmation on when the Ghanaian will be ready.
