Europa League Match Report: Manchester United qualifies for the Round of 8

On Wednesday night, Premier League giants, Manchester United qualifies for the UEFA Europa League’s Round of 8.

They secured a 2-1(7-1 on aggregate) victory over Austrian side, LASK. This was their win number eight against an Austrian side in UEFA competitions scoring 22 goals in all and conceding only one. From the first leg of R16, the Red Devils had a 5 goal advantage on aggregate which was further increased by Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in the second leg.

The last time Manchester United reached the quarter finals of the Europa League was when they won the tournament back in 2016-17, which was Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge of the Red Devils.

The expectations are gradually high from Solskjaer’s side this time and they are surely eyeing for a another UEFA Europa League title, this season.

The emerging star of the Red Devils, Mason Greenwood has scored more Europa League goals than any other Manchester United player this season, netting five of his eight shots on target, though he was unable to find the back of the net in the 2nd leg of Round of 16.
